One house of craft, five guilds of practice.
Bread, pastry, care, and culture — each run by specialists, each held to a single standard. Novel & Guild is the house standing behind them.
A holding company built like a guild hall.
Novel & Guild Hospitality Group Holdings Inc. is the parent house standing behind five independently run hospitality and culinary companies. Each operates under its own name, its own leadership rhythm, and its own craft — and each answers to the same standard of execution.
The model is simple: let specialists run their specialty. A retail patisserie is not run the same way as an institutional production bakery. A healthcare dining program is not run the same way as a facilities contract, and a hotel is not run the same way as either. Novel & Guild exists to hold these crafts together under one roof and one long-term vision, without flattening what makes each of them different.
What ties the five guilds together isn't a shared org chart — it's a shared refusal to treat food service and hospitality as a commodity. Every company under the Novel & Guild flag exists because its category was being run to a lower standard than it deserved, and because there was a better way to run it: chef-driven, ingredient-honest, and accountable to the people actually being served — whether that's a retail customer, a hospital resident, a corporate dining guest, or a hotel visitor.
For clients who need more than one guild at once — a senior living community, for instance, that needs kitchen management, cleaning, grounds, and snow removal under one relationship — Novel & Guild is the single point of contact that coordinates specialists across companies, so the client signs one relationship instead of managing four vendors.
Excellence is not a department.
Every guild — retail, institutional, healthcare, facilities, or hospitality — is held to the same standard of craft, cleanliness, and care. Excellence isn't assigned to one company under the flag; it's the condition of being under the flag at all.
Specialists run their specialty.
A pastry chef, a production bakery manager, a healthcare dining director, and a facilities operator solve different problems. Novel & Guild resources each guild to be excellent at its own craft rather than average at all of them.
One relationship, one standard.
Clients working across multiple guilds get a single point of contact coordinating culinary, environmental, and hospitality services — the convenience of one vendor with the depth of five specialists.
Five companies. One house.
Each guild exists to answer a specific failure of the industry it operates in — and each is built to prove excellence is possible where it's rarely expected.
Sweet Batch Cookies & Co.
Why It Exists
Retail cookie culture went mass-market long before it went excellent. Sweet Batch exists to prove the two aren't mutually exclusive — that a cookie can be built with the same technique, sourcing, and precision as a fine pastry, without apologizing for its price or its ambition.
The Standard
Built on European technique — Valrhona chocolate, hand-churned butter, and a dedicated gluten-free process that never touches a shared line. Every item is chef-developed, not formula-copied.
Services
- —Retail Patisserie
- —Small-batch cookie & pastry production
- —E-commerce & nationwide shipping
- —Custom & seasonal collections
- —Gluten-free program, dedicated process
- —Kosher-certified kitchen
- —Corporate & gifting orders
- —Select wholesale retail accounts
Bake Werks
Why It Exists
Institutions — hospitals, senior living communities, corporate dining programs — are typically offered a choice between mass-produced bakery product or a price tag that makes real quality impossible at scale. Bake Werks exists to close that gap: the house's B2B production bakery, built to supply wholesale and institutional accounts without compromising the ingredient standard set across the group.
The Standard
The name is a deliberate nod to the German Werk — a masterwork, a production facility built with intent. Bake Werks brings Sweet Batch's chef-developed recipes to institutional volume.
Services
- —Wholesale & institutional baked goods
- —Private-label & co-pack production
- —Allergen-controlled, dedicated gluten-free lines
- —Kosher-certified production
- —Healthcare & senior living bakery programs
- —Hospital self-op & GPO vendor relationships
- —Cold-chain & frozen distribution
- —Full nutrition & allergen labeling
Gilded Culinary Group
Why It Exists
Healthcare and corporate dining are too often treated as a cost center rather than an experience worth getting right. Gilded Culinary Group exists to bring restaurant-grade standards into settings where food service is expected to be forgettable — proving that dietary precision and genuine culinary craft aren't in conflict.
The Standard
Dietary precision is built into the program design from day one, not bolted on afterward — because in healthcare, the meal is part of the care.
Services
- —Full culinary & kitchen management contracts
- —Menu program design & development
- —Dietary & allergen program compliance
- —Kosher kitchen oversight
- —Culinary staff training & standards
- —Healthcare & senior living dining programs
- —Corporate dining management
- —Menu costing & vendor sourcing
Cura Environmental Services
Why It Exists
A clean, well-kept facility is inseparable from the guest or patient experience — but it's rarely run with the same care as the dining program next to it. Cura exists to hold environmental services to that same standard, and is kept structurally separate from the group's culinary lines to give clients contract flexibility and to isolate liability appropriately.
The Standard
Healthier Spaces, Every Day. Cura treats stewardship of a building the same way the kitchen treats stewardship of a plate \u2014 as a daily discipline, not an afterthought.
Services
- —Interior & janitorial cleaning programs
- —Healthcare-grade sanitation protocols
- —Grounds & landscaping maintenance
- —Snow & ice management
- —Facility stewardship contracts
- —Third-party contract flexibility
- —Integrated coordination alongside dining accounts
Edel Hospitality Management
Why It Exists
Hospitality at the property level is where every other guild's standard gets tested in front of a guest. Edel exists to carry the same standard of care into hotel and resort operations — proving that a managed property doesn't have to feel managed.
The Standard
The name comes from the German edel \u2014 noble. Edel applies that same idea of noble hospitality to property operations, guest experience, and the food and beverage programs inside them.
Services
- —Hotel & resort property management
- —Guest experience oversight
- —In-property food & beverage operations
- —Banquet & event operations
- —Brand standards implementation
- —Pre-opening & transition consulting
How the house is held together.
Independently held, jointly standing — five independently operated LLCs under one holding company, each with its own name, contracts, and liability.
Founder
Ronald Jones
Ronald Jones founded Novel & Guild after nearly four decades of culinary and hospitality leadership. His standard for craft and consistency is the thread running through every company under the Novel & Guild flag: excellence is a baseline, not a differentiator.
